Creative Challenge No.286
So many things
For do we wait
Sometimes pleasantly,
Some times not
Sometimes what we wait for
We haven’t much choice
But we accept it
Perhaps begrudgingly or without much thought
When our lives are held captive
By waiting and waiting some more
The time must come
To validate and evaluate
What it is we’re waiting for
When the hope is truly hopeless
When the impossible is indeed what you have sought
Escape from what you've been waiting for
Escape from what is naught

Very well written and you make a very good point!! The picture at the top gave me a smile.
ReplyDeleteWhen waiting is obssessive, it does hold one captive from living their potential

DeleteMany people wait for something to happen, wait for an unknown goal, just wait and hope forever without taking positive action. But as Jagger and Richards said, "You can't always get what you want/ But if you try sometimes well you might find/ You get what you need".
ReplyDeleteI guess we just need to know is the wait worth it, and is it achievable.....TY Captain !
DeleteWaiting is all the things you have mentioned in the poem...I really like the thought of our waiting holding us captive, so true!
ReplyDeleteand our captivity can be destructive when the waiting is never ending,,,,TY, Ms Danette !
